How Climate Tech Connect handles personal data on this site. The full policy is being finalised; the section on the awards vote below is accurate today.

What the awards vote stores, and why

Casting a vote stores your email address. It is what makes one vote per person possible: the address is the unique key, and only the most recent confirmed vote for an address counts.

Verification links are stored only as an irreversible hash, never in a form that could be reused, and they expire after 24 hours.

Each vote request also records the originating IP address and browser user-agent. These are kept solely to detect automated or duplicated voting, are visible only to CTC staff, and are never published or shared. Per-company standings are hidden from everyone until the winner is announced on stage.

You can change or withdraw your vote until voting closes. To have your address removed entirely, contact us and we will delete it.

Nominations

A nomination stores the company details submitted, plus the contact name and email of the person submitting it, so the editorial team can reply about the outcome.

Nominations are reviewed before anything is published. Rejected nominations are not shown publicly.

Matchmaking

If you agree to matchmaking when you register, we compare your profile with other participants’ to suggest who you should meet. You can decline, and declining does not remove you from the participant directory.

Most of the comparison happens on our own servers. Two parts of it — how well what you are looking for meets what somebody else offers, and how well a company fits an investor’s stated focus — are judged by a language model, and for those we send OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) the short “what I need” and “what I offer” text you wrote, an investor’s portfolio notes where relevant, and each person’s job title and company. Nothing else goes with it: no name, no email address, no IP address and no photo.

If you choose the AI interview when you register, what you say or type in answer to each question is sent to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) to fill in your profile, together with your job title and organisation — never your name, email address or IP address. If you use the microphone, the recording is sent to Deepgram (deepgram.com) to be turned into text and is not kept by us; you see the text before it is sent. We keep the text of the interview and what was filled in from it. It is visible to CTC staff and may later be used to improve who we suggest you meet; other participants never see it. You can always type instead of speaking, you review and correct everything on the registration form before it is saved, and the form is the only thing that saves your profile.

Withdrawing matchmaking consent stops us suggesting you to anyone and stops us suggesting anyone to you. We keep the comparisons we have already made so that a later change of mind does not mean starting from nothing; they are visible only to CTC staff.

Error reporting

When something on the site fails, a report is sent to PostHog, which we use to find and fix faults. Reports contain the page address, the error message and a reference code — never your email address, your vote, or form contents.

PostHog is configured for error reporting only. It sets no cookies, records no sessions and does not track visitors between pages.

Reports are processed on PostHog's EU infrastructure, so this data does not leave the European Union.

Tickets

Summit tickets are sold on Luma, not here. This site never sees payment details, and CTC Connect is not responsible for ticketing, access control or check-in.
