JiTiBa develops algaepearls: microalgae encapsulated in biodegradable gel beads that absorb nitrogen and phosphate from wastewater. Our modular systems are designed to add a final treatment step to existing wastewater facilities, helping reduce nutrient pollution in rivers and lakes. By keeping the algae contained in pearls, we simplify wastewater treatment, and aim to reduce the need for chemicals and energy-intensive systems.
